Cleaning the kitchen and painting it may actually be the most bothersome, considering it takes quite awhile to remove all the kitchen wares, utensils, appliances, etc., as well as the ability to use the kitchen until the job is done. However, if you can stand this sacrifice for a while, it will definitely be worth it. The kitchen is the heart of a home, and if the heart is happy, everyone’s happy. Thank you for the tips! They’re really helpful!

Hi,

Thanks for a nice summary. I'm building my own shed and will use vertical T&G knotty cedar, and want to see the wood but hopefully protect against discoloration. I'm willing to stain (but not scrape! :-) every 3 years, so it sounds like semi-transparent will fit. Do you have any specific recommendations ?

You have an amazing idea! With a good choice of paint colors, you could make a great improvement on your countertops. If you succeed in painting your granite countertop, hopefully, more people would be inspired to try this project in their own homes as well.

Painting is the most common DIY home improvement project. On a side note, there are parts of the house that need more accenting through painting. Decks, for example, are important considerations when doing a general enhancement. Painting decks is a one-man job if you have the skill. If not, tips like these would help.

Glad you were able to see many things which to improve on, running your company. Did not state in article, but felt like I was being very deceived towards the end of HIT's operation. They called me repeatedly the week before, asking if I would like to renew my hosting in March, not due for renewal until Oct. But if I purchased 2 years of hosting, I would get another 2 free. Week later they closed their doors. Glad I did not purchase this, as FiberNet told me, they scammed many, taking people's money, and running. If purchase was within 3 mos. one may have a chance of getting a portion back, but a pain-in-the-neck for many. Saw many things during my tenure dealing with them, they were not playing with a full deck, which is really unfortunate. Enjoyed working with every tech, designer, writer, cs, and account managers there, knowing they were being governed and led by management above. Best of Luck with your newer position~!

I worked with HIT Web Design as a designer and a writer. They haven't even paid me for the all the work that I completed for them last year. After it took me a while to get my checks, I basically quit working for them. They were a badly run company for most of the time that I worked for them and I hope that I can provide my customers which much better service than they did.
